I'm in need of a new Water / Windproof jacket....Fancy the 'Gore Oxygen', it's had some stellar reviews. What are the sizing of Gore garments???.....I remember trying one Gore Jacket on before in size Large, I think??? (Which fitted fine) but according to the Gore Sizing Chart this is impossible with the measurements.

I normally wear the follwing sizes.......

Assos / Giordana XL

Castelli XXL

Thanx!!!

As you can see from the picy he either didnt have the brakes or the distance and this is the result.
Expensive day for him.
He was OK with a cut knee and thinner wallet.

I have a problem with the above. It seemed to become stuck a couple of years ago. As I never raise or lower the saddle, I was not too bothered, but now the saddle clamps are deteriorating and I have a squeaky saddle, I hate noisy bikes!

The clamp is an allen key type, rather than QR. I have tried all sorts of lubricants and plus gas etc but it will not budge. Also, undoing the Allen key clamp seems to have no effect, I am worried that it has also seized.

I can sacrifice the seatpost but don't want to damage the frame.

Any ideas will be much appreciated. By the way I am a very ham-fisted mechanic, nothing too technical please!

Hi All,
After many years of non biking and a change of career I decided to bike to work, I had my old Universal serviced and have used this for a few months, I couldn't afford another bike and it works, just about.

I cycle about 6 mile down a very rough and often very wet and muddy canal path with a bit of road either end.

But now I can afford a newer but still second hand bike, I have been looking on eBay etc trying to narrow down what bike would suit my needs. a friend of mine suggested a Carrera but I have read very mixed reviews. I have looked at Specialized, Trek, Cannondale etc and very recently Forme. I am now finding it hard to choose what would be good for my needs as they are all looking very similar to my inexperienced eye.

My old bike is a Mountain Bike, I'm not sure wether a Hybrid or Urban would be better. Hardtail? Steel frame or Aluminium?

Although I can't afford a new bike I want to decide on which bike and then keep looking until the right one comes along.

So I am looking for a tough bike, comfortable, easy to maintain. I will just be using it for this commute and a bit of leisure. Budget Of £200-£300 second hand.

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks

Hi guys.
i'm getting a new wheelset next month, and can't decide which to buy. My budget is 600 quid- tops, and the wheels are for training and some racing. Does anybody have any ideas which would be best for that price range?
So far, i've been looking at American classic 420 aeros.. Mavic Ksyrium SL's, or Fulcrum 1.. but any other ideas or recommendations are definately welcome. Thanks in advance. Paul.

My mini pump, Wrench Force, about 6 years old, is really not doing the job. I'm lucky if I can get about 30-40psi. (I'm guessing as it has no gauge.) Any recommendations for a small but powerful mini - to be carried in back shirt pocket, not attached to the frame. I'm looking at the Lezyne Road Drive Mini ABS - it's £37.99 but gets very good reviews. It has a hose which seems to be rated a plus point - Is this a big advantage? (My old one just clips straight onto the valve.) Also, does having a gauge help as well? I don't think it matters that much as obviously no mini will ever get the ideal pressure of a track pump but would appreciate any feedback.
