I'm not sure a newcomers section is necessary. On other forums it seems to just add unnecessary posts and leads to people asking technical questions which should be in another section.

I like the clearly defined sections here. You know where things should be and there's a lounge section where newcomers could posts if they feel they need to.

I've asked lots of very basic and sometimes stupid questions and always got good advice from the clever chaps and chapesses on here. Unlike some other forums, you don't get unhelpful numpties replying with bad advice based on their warped opinions gleaned from the media or from latest trends.

Maybe a FAQ section for technical issues would be good, but keeping it pu to date and relevant would be important as already said.

It's good to have the opportunity to suggest improvements, but change shouldn't happen when it's not required and personally I think the forum is pretty close to perfect as it is (albeit a wanted section as suggested a while back would be an obvious inclusion).
