what page are they on in today's Cycling Weekly, I've looked for ages and can't find them, I assume open time trials took place last weekend or was the weather bad?

The road photos were, I saw most of the track ones at the time. After all one track is much the same as another. I suppose its only once/twice/thrice every four years. (or ad nauseum, we'll see )

CW are making a crap job of reporting on local and even national standard racing this year.
I know I've mentioned it before, but when there is a report on a race, describing that race for a full page or even two pages, the result of that race needs to be on the same page, not in a corner 20 pages further on. They have even done this with the Olympics. Its just stupid Mr.Garbutt.
If you change Cycling Weekly into Cycling Plus, people will just buy Cycling Plus
Mr. England, Mr Gayfer, Mr Evans, Mr Donovan must be turning in their graves. Mr Ayres would be too, but I think he might not be dead.
Going back to the original post, there should be a results round up section, where the results of all races (TTs Road etc) that week are listed, if they have not justified a report elsewhere in the mag. There could even be room for a couple of pertinent descriptive comments where deserved.
Digressing - in this weeks CW there is a full page ad for this forum - On the ad the most prominent bit is "Get up to date news on Tour De France" (or similar) ! Up to date, Out of date, Mr.Garbutt.
Feet on the desk, earpluggs in, cucumber piece on one eye, tea-bag on the other, pencils up nostrils - Mr Garbutt.

PS Bring back Mr Cookson with his race reports from IN the bunch.
Brailsford might have to train him up a bit first.
Inject him with some of the stuff Shane gives the trackies, Dave.
Only joking track stars.

It used to be I (and many others) only got CW for the race results to see if I or my club mates were in the results section. Now that reason has gone to buy it my subs have been terminated as I really don't want to read any more reviews of £3000 bikes!

I don't think adding 'only joking' to a post makes it not libel.

Only thing libellous in above posts is the fact that Mr Garbutt is today wearing two tea bags and no cucumber.
Please accept my sincere and heartfelt apologies Mr Garbutt.
Only joking

I'm being serious about Mr Cookson's old race reports , though. They were well written. And writing a report must have given him added incentive not to get dropped. Everyone's a winner.

Anyway CBGB, I meant grit , determination and a will to win.
So there.
And in Mr Cookson's case, to get fit enough to ride a Premier Callendar race and write a good report for CW while he is at it. I'm sure he can fit it into his busy schedule.

My brother, a certain Knacker, has satarted to race again after 15 years and has done reasonably well with a sixth place in his 3rd race back! Chapeau kiddo! Whilst vicariously sunning my family victory I went into Smiths to get my usual CW fix (I dont buy for the very reason that Elsie states above in that I dont want to read Cycling Plus) and to see Knacker`s name in print. Blow me, not there! Well Ill be! Thats a suprise! Come on CW get your act together, CYCLING WEEKLY is your title, forget massive sales to get really glossy adverts, boring articles on `cracked metatarsals`, long essays on `how to climb` that dont actually tell you how to climb! Reports, news, rides, clubs, tests, all these things emphatically yes! But dont forget the folk who ride day in day out and support THE SPORT from below, from Club TTs & Circuit races to open events of ALL types. Gives us our little bit of glory and make an effort to support us who support you! Cheers

I've been subscribing to Cycling Weekly as it now calls itself for 25 years and I too am thoroughly bored reading the same old articles week after week on 'nutrition', fitness, and endless reviews of identikit bikes. And most of all I am bored with the same CW staffers posing front cover week after week after week. Thank heavens, at least for a few weeks in July and August this year its been graced with pictures of proper racers.

The fitness stuff is dull, nearly always. This week it was about someone who'd lost weight by eating less and more "healthily". Wot really?
With the weather we've had this summer, an ark might have been useful. The coverage of international racing is much more limited than it was 5 years ago.

As for being out of the Ark, well far from it, i believe that i am a modernist who looks constantly forward with a powerful memory of the past.
Come and ride with us to see that we are a complete cross section of `normal` society that love cycling! Like you there are a group that like CW and its content and there are those like me who like some of it.
Like you I have an opinion and if you like CW then buy, but dont insult others because they have differing views!
