One stage was, but overall it has struck me as being an exciting race. The best I've seen this year was the Tour de l'Avenir. Probably because race radios have been banned, which led to an attacking race.

It makes you realise how beautiful and diverse a country France is when you look at Spain this time of year...so tired, brown and dusty, maybe the Vuelta should be on in April for some colour! I think my TV is set to sepia mode!!

That's exactly what I was thinking about our country during the Tour of Britain! Different view, different weather, around every corner...

At least David Harmon's commentary livens it up.

What's with Bettini? First he organised the go-slow with his "We (QS) will win why race?" Then he says he's going home. Now he's in the break with a favourable finish for himself. Go Roche & Flecha!!

So one day was boring - I taped it, nearly dropped off while watching it (well my cat was sleeping on my lap) then it clicked off before it finished so even my 'hedge the bets of giving it lots of over time' didn't work so I had to tape the highlights and watch it while I had breakfast. However, the rest has been really good this year. Really enjoyed it. And I can remember long days in both Le Tour and Il Giro so it happens everywhere. As for that Tour of Poland!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Spain is a boring fried, mainly barren country scenary wise. As for the race, riders are tired at the end of a long season, and with the worlds at the end of the month riders use it as quality training . Thanks to Nicolas Roache for keeping the Irish interest in the race. Definetly one of the stars of thgis years race

I found The Tour de Pologne on Polish TV today. It was like a wet Sunday club run with a sprint at the end. A Columbia rider caused havoc in the bunch with his pushing and shoving resulting in handbags at dusk between him and a few other riders after the line. The only entertainment there was. Then over to TVE and to quote the commentator "Tremendo" on the mountain.

The Vuelta is a week too long. There is more excitment on the average clubrun.

Rumours are that it will revert to it's early season slot in 2011.

If it moves back to earlier in the year then won't some riders miss out on the Classics? I heard Sean say that he sometimes didn't ride it because he was concentrating on the Classics. More Spanish rider seem to enjoy riding them. The Worlds seem to be a week earlier again this year - a few years ago they used to be around my birthday in early October. If they moved say into August would that help?

Only if they stayed in the North and as the Basques won't let them in that's not very likely to provide many stages.. Even around Burgos and Salamanca it's very, very hot to race in August.

I wasn't bored. One go slow stage made me find other things to do that's all. Otherwise it was a competitive and variable race. The Navacerrada TT was an expected result but was still great to watch.

It's a pity David Duffield wasn't doing the commentry. He would have filled in the time with info about wine, Franco, The Spanish Civil War, Picasso etc. Think he was in Poland.
