I did it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.
I've not signed up for it yet might do so on the day.

From what I've read on various forums it looks like it should be a pretty good day out, the only worry is the start in stoke! sends a shiver down me spine that place.

Dont worry there will be plenty leaving at the same time, simply join the back of a group untill your out of the worst of it.

The rest of the ride is quite nice.

Completed the ride today, 1st time I've entered the CnF. Outgoing to Macclesfield, it just lashed it down all the way to Macclesfield, nothing stayed dry, feet like blocks of ice, air temps of 5-7 degrees but the Northern Winds bringing that down by a few degrees. Extremely well organised, plenty of drinks and bars en-route, but the performance of the day goes to the all the helpers back at Finish who put on a fine selection of food, hot drinks, cakes - and plenty of it, really good atmosphere at the finish with all cyclists sitting round tables sharing stories and expericenes. The CnF hill climb itself was good, I didnt find it hard in any place, riding a 39x25, it's a nice hill to climb, easy to get into the tempo. Plenty of rolling hills on the route back to Brian Rourke's place. Not sure on numbers but it was a big tunrout today. Wonder if the guy on the BMX has fininshed yet?

Great day out, despite the rain in the morning and feet like blocks of ice. First time I've done it and will be back next year. First rate organisation. However, was it just me or did anyone else not see any arrows in Leek for the left turn to Stoke! I ended up going stright on, down the hill and heading back to Macc before I realised. An extra 5 miles on my journey was not what I needed!

Sounds good, Simon. Might add that one to the calendar for next year - nice and local.

BMX? That would be an impressive achievement. Could only be bettered by a unicycle.

Yeah you have to put it in your calender, only 45 mins away. Seen shirts from Birkenhead NECC and Bike Factory but didn't spot any Deeside, Wrexham or Chester CC guys - although everyone's shirts were blanked out with waterproof jackets. I was very impressed with the event. A nice steady 3hr 23m out on the road so considering the weather I was quite happy.
