oh this idea has come to me as i think of mountains and fresh air ...
how about the magazine organising a cycling weekly sportive? i am sure with the current climate and enthusaism for the wheels it could be a great idea and a happy occasion for a ham sandwich and a few beers - i am sure it could be held in different parts of the country by different organising clubs .. just an idea ...
might be fun

I am under the impression that the comic is involved in some, they promote them to some extent, e.g. Circuit of Kent.
There may be scope for a series, but it seems there are quite a few people doing that. Sounds like a good idea though.

The Sportive calendar is pretty chocka, and seems to cover most of the country(s).
Is there a region left unchartered?

Tha calendar appears full but I question that regions are uncharted, most rides appear to be concentrated in a few areas of the country.

That's what I was asking: where are the areas not yet featured? I guess the reason for the concentration in certain areas is down to the hills. Some parts of the country would just not attract many riders, despite being attractive places to ride.

I have only found one taking place in the North East (Above Richmond) but I have not been looking for very long.

Your spelling is a little off there but generally speaking you try and avoid recovering in the LOCAL with TAILS...BAAAAA!!!

I think you would be better off taking along a new dressing gown for tvr to cover her modesty... as I recall hers is red and a bit see-through!!!

Plenty room for a sportive in Aberdeenshire, how about Aberdeen to Lerwick and back? It would be some achievement to complete that one!

Loads of space in Lincolnshire too! And lots of nasty, short but sharp hills!

Ok then.
East Kent. Faversham to Sandwich to Dover back via Canterbury. At least 80 miles, using country lanes, up to 120 miles. Partly hilly but some flatter bits.
It could be called the Garden Of England Sportive, run off in late April there would be lots of apple/pear/cherry blossom to be seen.

This sounds exactly like part of the shipping forecast. Not very helpful or relevant. Sorry.
