I believe he has, but I don't know the details.

Did he not mention in 'The Hour' that he tried at but was sworn at for being 'f_cking tester.'

He's certainly done some, and won some (that's probably why he got sworn at - not for being a tester, but for having the bad manners to win...) - mostly by riding off the front. In the hour he reckoned he didn't like them because the strongest/fittest didn't always win. That's the bit I like - if you're clever enough, you can get round a certain amount of disparity in fitness. It's tactics and bike-handling and thinking rather than just pumping out the watts for mile after mile. Of course, my opinion may be biassed by the fact I'm hopeless at pumping out the watts over anything but the last 400m...

It would be nice to know how you qualify your statement though!

You are obviously neither a politician nor an academic. Which is no bad thing. I have a sneaking suspicion you might be Michael Hutchinson though.

He's paid to do that [see above comment about politicians and academics].

Taking nothing away from hutch, It's not that hard to quantify is it though??? If the question is can he rod race to any discernable level then the answer is no. I'm sure he could finish even relatively high standard races comfortably and chippers there'd be no catching him if he chipped off the front, but he's never (to my knowledge) got a top 10 or 20 in a Prem Calender, certainly not with any degree of regularity, and when you look at the level he TT's at then that has to be the point of comparison.

Why should he bother. He has been a full time sponsored athlete for years on the strength of what he is good at.
Look at Armstrong, why bother geting cold and dirty trying to win Paris Roubaix when his sponsors paid him shed loads of money to ride one race per year; The Tour.

I suspect he might have had to ride in the cold and rain once or twice prior to doing the Tour, it's called training!

He probably has his own indoor country to train in by now.
