In all his successfull years Lance had someone or something to hate as a way of fueling his training, focus and the chip on his shoulder. Cofidis, originally, the the French as a whole, then a few of his ex team mates who he acusedd of betrayal cos they wanted to be team leaders. Followed by that French rider who spoke out about doping, and finally the press. So. Who will it be this time round, Contador possibly, cos he wont agree to be a domestique?

From what I read on BBC, Contador is none too happy about his new team-mate. It will be interesting to see how Astana approach it next season. Will they do a CSC and see who is in the best position or will Armstrong dictate things like he used to.

My prediction is that Contador will decamp to some French Team. Maybe Bouygues. Weren't they trying to snap up Boonen a few months ago prior to his cocaine affair??
Now that'd spice the peloton wars up a bit!!!
C'mon J-R Bernadeau, you know you really want to...
And remember, you read it here first...

Would be good to see Contador with Bouygues Telecom! My Parents live in the area, J.R's place is Dad's LBS! And his doctor is the team doc, i'll ask if he can get some 'inside info!' Would be good to bump into Thomas and Alberto (not literally!) next time i'm out there!

I'm that rare fish - I'm a bit of a fan of the Bouygues team. I would love to see Contador go to someone like Bouygues, but I don't think that it would be a good move for him, as the ethos seems less suited to a Tour contender, adn I do not know if the team could support him properly. Credit Agricole would have been a better bet, except...
So to officially start the "So who'll Contador join now Headstrong is back" debate, I'm going to suggest that he'll be heading for Scott, American Beef next year. Mostly Spanish, and have gone - with one fairly foul blow - from outside bets, with a good set-up to support a genuine contender, to a team without a focus. Also, they've been quiet on the signings front to date, so if they have any decent money to invest, they have it all left to woo Contador.
