Brief Report -

So, after seizing the leader's jersey during the Tour of Britain, and holding courageously onto it through the rain and snow of Poland, Fozziebear has lost it again to El-Cid during la Vuelta!!

Will the leader's jersey be yo-yoing about between these two protaganists all the way to Lombardy??? Or has El-Cid finally stamped his authority on the race???

One thing's for certain, we're poised for an epic mano a mano battle in the final few weeks of the 2008 predictions season ... what a glorious contest this is...

(yep, that's right, bin watching too many cycling DVDs.... )

Only 1320 points till I take the lead!

Excellent.

Hold on , I appear to be losing ground on Elsie and Fozzie, but there are so many races left still to go, I'm sure that I can find some Autumn form.

Thanks twa, sterling work as usual.

Lovely demonstration of the mixed metaphor there

Yes, ride with him twice a week, will tell him he's missed out tomorrow.

Shame, he needs new socks

Alan.

Re: Prediction Standings After the Worlds [Re: thatwomanagain]
      #36528 - 02/10/2008 21:36

Podium for the Worlds -

Gold medal - bfergie - 160 pts
Silver medal - the winegoblin/notguilty/daveno7/GPantani team pursuit squad with 150 pts each.
Bronze - cacophony - 135 pts

Just missing out on the medals -
jonporter - 133 pts
twa, dang - 130 pts
erico9 - 125 pts
fozzie - 120 pts
ACNBugno - 118 pts
El-Cid - 115 pts
Bluebeard - 110 pts
slowhand - 108 pts

-----------------------------------------------------------

So as we approach the final two races of the predictions season, the leaderboard looks like this...

1. El-Cid - 2791 pts
2. Fozziebear - 2780 pts
3. paulypaul0 - 2523 pts
4. bigoldetc, GPantani - 2386 pts
6. fizban - 2349 pts
7. eric09 - 2300 pts
8. cacophony - 2113 pts
9. winegoblin - 2053 pts
10. dang - 2009 pts
11. slowhand - 1876 pts
12. daveno7 - 1864 pts
13. Bluebeard - 1842 pts
14. AJB - 1769 pts
15. smokin-joe - 1750 pts
16. jonporter - 1723 pts
17. twa - 1609 pts
18. notguilty - 1459 pts
19. wuverley - 1452 pts
20. Bellew - 1436 pts

So an epic finale to the season as Fozzie gradually claws his way back on to El-Cid's wheel!! Will he outsprint his rival in the final kilometer, or has he used up all his energy in the chase???

Meanwhile, there's been a dramatic shake-up in the minor placings, where bigoldetc and GPantani have teamed up to overhaul fizban for 4th place! But can they carry on working together...

And after an indifferent Worlds campaign, rcruise63 has dropped completely out of the top twenty... needs to be taking some proper advice from those KonsettKidz...

And notguilty has climbed to 18th position, building up an unassailable lead over pondweed in the Battle of the Brothers...
