Hello All,
Loved watching the racing on TV since I was a kid and The Milk Race was on! Have enjoyed this season's bigger coverage so much that I've finally quit the fags, bought a bike AND started riding it, have joined CW forums and been lurking/reading and learning
Did anyone else hear Pat McQuaid say UCI would welcome GB applying to host the world champs, during Eurosport coverage of Elite Mens Road Race on Sunday?
Goodwood in '82 was our last by all accounts!
I vote for "The Mountain Circuit" eh Dazzricles?

I've been and seen and wondered in awe, but........
HOW FAST??!!
Amazing.
This is the kind of stuff that inspires.
Great forum, keep it up.
Regards
Rave

It would be great to use the Isle of Man again. Closed roads and Cav on home territory.

Yes, it's just sitting there collecting dust for most of the year. I tried using it as a paperweight last year, but it was just awkward...

We've got so many great places that could host it in this country from Scotland, The Lake District, Wales, The Southwest, Isle of Man to name but a few .... so what's the betting it would be another one for LONDON THEN!

I vote for Canterbury, its about time a major race passed through there. And its so convenient for almost everyone surely.

Canterbury? Convenient for the French maybe. The Welsh Grand Prix Circuit would be best for me , or bring back the Tour of the Cotswolds course even.

How about somewhere central, like Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria or Northumberland? I'm sure any of those places could serve up a fantastic circuit.

Needs to be flat if we want a Cavendish win.

Needs to be a 10 milish circuit, so spectators can actually see the race a few times. Preferably with a couple of decent hills, flanked by wide, banked verges, where the crowds can gather and some big screens and beer tents can be set up. It also needs to be within easy reach - ie walking distance - of a few thousand hotel rooms, which themselves are easily reached by train and plane.

Wasn't London looking in to hosting it in 2013?

Would indeed be great, but I doubt Cav would be in with much of a shout owing to that dirty great hill. Still maybe he could employ a little local knowledge and find a shortcut, failing that the locals could re-introduce the use of tin tacks in bike racing.
Yep IoM - bring it on.....
