It's certainly no surprise.

I think it *will* get worse - there are still ten more CERA positives to come out, according to the original rumours.

Brilliant.

Next year, they should just invite French and British riders, just to be on the safe side.

It's so naiive to assume all French and British riders are clean - i reckon they're mostly just taking advantage of the fact they're not being specifically targetted at the moment.

Aren't all riders tested for the same drugs? So aren't all riders targeted?

To set the cat among the pigeons and I am not saying they would have been innocent but keeping Astana out of the Tour obviously worked and kept it clean

Can anyone remember how many positives there were last year and how many have there been so far this year?

These new testing programmes, biological passports et al are obviously working so much better than that before them

And dare I say it we were welcoming the dawn of the new guard and saying good bye to the old.

This is getting sickening. I feel duped, that I thought this year's Tour was a cleaner one. I can't be the only one to have thought/hoped that the new boys like Kohl were coming through because previous doped stars had been neutralised by testing. Now, it's just the same old, same old.

The biological passports are working - why do you think certain riders - Ricco, Sella et al have been specifically tested?
The biological passports need a lot of data and samples to begin to assemble an individual profile for each rider, so at the moment they can't be used a proof positive of doping but they can and do point the finger.

Durrrrr! to all pro cyclists when will you learn... you win you get tested. Its as simle as that! if you wanna take your chances doping, don't win???
Before my local sunday morning race, at best i may have a bloody strong coffee (i is a coffeee fiend) but i'll still be well within any legal requirements, BUT i also know i'll never, ever be tested, but these guys our supposed hero's(sic) know there is always a possibilty of being tested. BUT,big BUT, to win fully knowing your subject to post race testing is just plain moronic stupidity!! so why? bwainless...

If anybody thinks that this new test will stop these rascals from contemplating doping either now or in the future, they are mistaken.

I would bet that right now the chemical companies are working on new improved formulas that WADA et.al will have to overcome.

Like military secrets all this is a game of fleeting cat and mouse.

I tend to take it all as a sick joke at the rider's expense whilst pots of money are being made by someone.

It might do well not to spend a penny that might end up in these unsavoury hands, i.e. no team kits purchased for a start, no advertising other than that by the manufacturers of products purchased. It's only small but it can register a protest. Personally I'm into retro.

As far as I know CERA is a new drug only formed at the beginning of the year, so maybe last years lead riders were mostly clean!

Just wondering. Ok it's the riders final decesion to take drugs.Does anyone else, team manager, doctor, fellow rider, sponsor, etc advise them to do so.
There is a culture of doping in cycling and it's not going away.
Drug comapnies will sell their products to anyone, and a lot of them as are many global comapnies, ruthless in their persuit of profit.
So big money is at the route of it, and it is the rider who loses out in the end when he is caught, while those who advise him, supply him can continue to push their products.
Ok it's the riders decesion to go along with it, but I'm sure many are under presure and many aren't srong enough to resits, or aren't prepared to give up the sport, because of this doping culture.

But the image of the sport is really damaged now and is a big joke.
How long is it since Le Blanc promised the Tour of Redemption.
