See a few guys doing the Old Colwyn - Penrhyn Bay sort of circuit, but perhaps preferring to be training alone - or maybe not?

I dunno about that. I asked for a campari and soda in an "Italian" restaurant in Conwy and the waiting staff started world war 3 between themselves. I got miserable service for the rest of the meal, as if it was my fault they hadn't bothered to keep either drink in stock.
It was a busy restaurant but they seemed surprised someone might want an Italian type of drink.
Happy days.

Carefull, rcruise.
I'm pretty easy going, but I would be hesitant to take Scouser under my wing. Surely there's a limit to your solidarnosc leanings.
Come on , Scouser, pull yourself together, man. You got loads of good advice last week from your chums on the forum, why not thank them and give them an update.
Failing that, if you would like people to ride with, get down to your local club and join in. You can search the nearest one on the BC website.
Dont worry, cycling clubs are full of wierdos and social inadequates.

That image is going to permeate my whole weekend.
And not in a good way.

Campari and Soda??? I hope you can come up with a good excuse for that one Wuv! Get thee down to the local hairy bikers pub and treat yourself to five pints of Guinness - that should remedy any psychological ailment you may be suffering

It is a common Italian aperitivo.
Though rarely indulged in around Conway, it seems. I probably drank sambuca later.....

Sounds like a night to remember, were you camping?
You are obviously the man to take Scouser in hand and cheer him up.

Now, Now. I know that it might be an odd thing for a gentleman to drink, but to accuse the poor chap of camping it up is a bit extreme don't you think

Its some time since I ventured into North Wales, perhaps I should return.
Though not till summer.

From my distant recollections of summer in a caravan near Rhyl there is little variation in the Welsh climate from season to season - constantly p~**~ng down!!
PS Campari & Soda?!?!?!? Were they all out of alcopops as well!!

Rhyl, theres a place. I thought Margate was looking a bit run down and then I visited Rhyl.
That was a few years ago, I expect its lovely now.
As to the climate, my partner did some job training in the area. One day in May she finished her course and left for home. There was 4 inches of snow on the ground in the Conwy valley, by the time she got to Kent it was a warm 25C.
Although I have been there, N.Wales, when its warm, at least once.

OK Leading a too busy life.....but that's the way it is.
On the work front.....things no better. I have just prepared a formal reply to the boss at his formal request - allowed a few brainy legal minded friends to look it over and I will send it to the boss next week. It's a letter which to anyone else with any sense who sees it should immediately spot what an abusive prick he is. I just have to wait and see if he has any more grenades to chuck.
Campari Soda - mmm I quite like them. However I believe they are very old hat with the Italians - well younger italians. Similarly I read recently the Scottish distillers are really struggliong because Whisky is seen as an old mans drink. ounger folk just guzzle Vodka (apparantly). I'd be happy for Bell's to send me a few litres down if I could take them off their hands!

Rhyl, btw, and Colwyn Bay are supposed to be getting a transformation on some grand scale - we'll wait and see. Maybe we'll be the new Cote D'Azur or whatever today's equivalent is! Almost as dated as Campari and Scotch I guess

Campari and Scotch...
A drink best avoided.
Which reminds me. As a 14 year old I could occasionally buy cider in the local shops or even 1 pub, but everything else was unavailable. So when invited to a teenage party I, and all my friends, were reduced to making a disgusting cocktail from the rarely drunk spirits in our parents cupboards.
A jam jar or similar was filled with whisky, vodka, brandy, creme de menthe, Tia Maria, Baileys, indeed anything available. This mixture could be drunk, in the same way as drinking cough medicine, as long as Pernod was excluded. If Pernod was included then it tasted like cough mixture and was nearly undrinkable; though it could be forced down.
Oh the relief at becoming 16 and being able to buy cider and lager in shops, and fags. How do modern youngsters cope with the Photocard culture.
I know there's a belief that every teenager on the street, in the evening, is wasted, but where can they get booze nowadays?
Sorry, being nostalgic there, all teenagers are dangerous and need locking up , a bit like pro cyclists, they have no self control.

flippin heck - on the job front i fear things are taking a nose dive, and I am feeling quite depressed about things at the moment. In fact I have started to even look up what the uneployment pay is - thinking it might be better than having work hassle
