'Er indoors has hinted at buying me a Garmin 705 for Crimbo.I know its been around for a while and had mapping teething problems.Just wondering which is the best way to go with it.Have the initial probs been sorted out and is it worth the expense?
Please be swift with replies as my wife changes her mind on a regular basis(predominantly monthly).

Hi.
My Garmin 705 works fine now that I have a new transcender unit(thats the bit that goes on the chain stay, picks up cadence and mph) The first one packed up after 2 weeks, but Garmin sent a new one by return of post. Just make sure that you tie-wrap the cadence magnet that goes on your crank arm firmly, as the sticky back surface on it tends to be poor. I do not use the map part so cannot comment, but the training side of it and its info is great.
