Dawes Giro 500 Vs Kaffenback
      #39434 - 12/11/2008 21:06

So, I've got a new job starting in the new year which means I have some extra spending money....so I'm needing help to spend it!
I normally ride an One On Pompino which is great, but now & again I get a rush of blood to the head and ride a geared bike, a Dawes Giro 500. Now the Dawes has a pretty good frame on it considering it only cost £309, but the rest of the bike is pretty rotten (shimano Tiaggro)so my dilema is:-
Do I get rid of the Dawes and get a Kaffenback with the best quality components I can afford or...
Do I keep the Dawes and replace the crap parts with something better (Campag!) which would be the cheaper option, especially as I already have a 'lightweight' Shimsham rear wheel?
The bike would be used for light touring/day rides etc.
