help required! - turbo trainer
      #39611 - 16/11/2008 12:46

Just purchased a turbo trainer that unfortunately has no instructions, and attempted to clamp my bike on. My bike has a quick release rear wheel and not sure if it can be used with this?? Just tried but snapped off part of the inner casing on one of the clamps when getting on! Any advice much appreciated

you need a specific turbo trainer quick release skewer. You should have got one with your trainer unless you bought 2nd hand or off ebay.Tackx do a spare one as Im sure a few others might.

Most if not all turbo trainers come with their own skewer, they are all metal and designed to fit the turbo trainer, if bought new and is not included contact the seller, also if bought 2nd hand, the seller will have the skewer somewhere, if not one can be bought from the manufactures although I think most metal ended skewers will fit.

Bugger! Bought it via someone who works at raleigh so got their staff discount. Was surprised it didn't come with instructions etc. Genuine too as I picked it up from the raleigh on-site shop.

Thank you both for your advice. Will get onto it and hopefully haven't knackered my clamp!
