Increase vitamin C intake and don't do too much training when you're ill.

try getting your Dr to do a full spread of blood tests.
You could have a weakened immune system or the onset of Hypothroidism or diabetes etc
Look carefully at your diet. Do a food diary for a week and check if you are getting enough vegetables and fruit and protein etc.
Try taking a general vitimin supplement especially if you are a veggie

Do you work in offices or schools ?
The most common way to contract things is off doors. Most people do not wash their hands after using the toilet.

If you doubt this try walking through several doors in your office then smelling your fingers !
Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your lips, mouth, food and nose.
If you pick your nose STOP doing it. Its a favourite way of introducing germs to your body.

If you smoke make sure you don't touch your lips with your fingers.

If you chew your finger nails you are going to have to wear gloves lol

but there is a school of thought that picking your nose and eating it helps your immune system

Surely if you take all these precautions, you ll end up get ill through worry?
i'd stick to reduced cycle training, cross training and lots of sleep and a good diet.

once you appreciate the mechanisms of bacterial and viral infections and the risks, you automatically make certain precautions part of your lifestyle .Better not to contract illness in the first place . Its a bit like any learning process really.

Is oral sex allowed Peanut?

Still, I dont suppose it matters too much if Mrs Cid gets a viral infection.

I could always wear a mask if I want to get involved.

I'm a Burgundy man, so it could be Cid Pinot Noir, but Mrs Cid enjoys an old vine Chablis, or failing that a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

I dont think she reads this. When ladies get very old they fill their time with other stuff, like playing tennis and getting stubbly growth waxed off.

Anyway, MrCruise, a public servant like youself should not be surfing at the tax payers expense at this time of day - get back to work young man.

Erm, could be a little more specific about exactly how old "very old" actually is, because although I have no urge whatsoever to play tennis as yet, and don't have too much stubble growth to get waxed off, I'd like to know, so I can plan ahead.

Thank you so much.

When you get really old it has to be burned off, like crop stubble. Apparently.

Probably best to ignore it and let it slowly creep up on you, Candencegirl. With any luck you might not notice.

gavinj - apologies - Keep warm, dont sit about in sweaty gear when you get home, have a shower, eat plenty, drink plenty, get enough sleep, enjoy life, train well. Good luck and Good Health.

Oooh no - don't fancy that. I have a policy of not letting anything creep up on me slowly... that way lies madness...

But thanks anyway.

True, in that case, stay alert and watch for tell tale signs!
