Rest, anti-inflammatory gel and tablets (ibuprofen) but find out what is causing it otherwise it will return, is it in elbows, knees, shoulders or where? If it is bike related it will be a positioning problem!

It's in the knees and came as a result of riding in the alps, the Glandon is the one that did it! i fitted a 32 cassette at the back, would this have helped slow the problem or compacted it further?

The increase of pressure climbing probably is not the cause of tendonitis but the bigger cassette will have helped relax the legs a bit but possibly was the cause of the trouble, sometimes when climbing a lot people have the seat too far back which makes you extend your lower leg forward on the top of the pedal stroke putting stress on the tendons around the knee cap. When you climb out the saddle your hips are directly above the crank so putting the seat forward can move your hips in that direction lessening the forward movement. Cleat allignment may be an issue but if you never suffered before I doubt it's that. Probably by using a larger cassette than normal meant you could climb steeper hills seated and that could be the damage creator, even when seated it's best to shift your weight forward allowing more power to be put on the pedals. Same idea as trial bikes where a lot of power is placed while seated.
So try putting the seat 20mm forward and put a longer stem on if you feel cramped.
