I see Alberto Contador has been "reasured" by Johan Bruyneel that it is posible for Astana to have two leaders now that Lance is back.
Call me cynical but I wonder how much this "reasurance" cost the backers, to keep Alberto on board and not have the current Tour champion as a rival next year and ruin the Armstrong comeback.

doesn't look like Lance will contest the Tour, if he's serious about winning I don't think he'd do the Giro. Contador only wants the tour next year.
I'm not saying Lance won't ride but it might be like Lemond and Hinult in 86 tour a domestic deluxe pushing Contador all the way.

If Astana are there, at the TdeF, then Armstrong will want to win it, as will Contador, but Contador won't be allowed to. Surely the same will be true of the Giro, if Lance rides it, he'll want to win it.
Despite the doubts we've all got, Armstrong will be doing the calculations, fitness wise to make sure he's competitive in any race he wants to win.

I don't call you particularly cynical, in fact everything about this alliance makes me feel very cynical indeed and that's without the spectre of vino looming large .

Don't worry too much bluebeard Kloden has said he's much happier as a domestic he says he doesn't like the pressure of been a team leader which seems a real waste of talent.

Astana with the 2009 line up will win all 3 tours.The other teams can just go along to m ake up the numbers!
