Done the medium route last 3 years, going for the long one this year, just done a little recce of 42 miles of the route today taking in the Ryals, not to bad - done them twice, the route isn't to bad - have done much harder sportives, there are a few lumps to negotiate but nothing strenuous,should be a good day with over 4,ooo participants, just be careful where you park as wardens come prepared with pocketfuls of tickets for unsuspecting motorists.

did it a few years ago, there's a short sharp dig of close to 20% before the first feed, it gets grippy out past rothbury and the Ryals are short and steep, but nothing impossible.
Great event, well organised.
