Always nice when a plan comes together, Adam. And achieved in harmony, too. Well done.

Good news Adam, pleased you got it sorted - Welcome to the forum too mate!
Heading into a personal headwind....
Are you in a union? If so it might be worth checking to see if they will act for you. Mine (Unison) will if you are in an incident while going to or from work.

Always call the police! (If you can). And get checked over by a qualified medic.
I got knocked off by an idiot turning right whilst I was waiting a T junction for him to go past. I made him diall 999 and wouldn't let his car or my bike be moved. whilst he was calling I took pictures of the scene as well.
I could hear him admitting that to the operator that it was his fault and that he didn't see me. In the end both the police and ambulance came.
Policeman gave me his address. But of course when I wrote to ask him to pay for the damages, he's ignored me. But, I called the Police and the officer who dealt with it gave me his insurance company details. So I can now claim from them.
So now, instead of having to pay out just over £100 for nearly killing me, he's hopefully going to lose his no-claims bonus etc.
If I had't called the police I could have reached an impasse.
Good point, I'd not thought about that I'm with the RCN (a nursing union) so I'll keep that in mind if I'm in any similar situations again.
Dave B - Luckily its all sorted now, with minimum input from police, medics etc. (read above replies if you're interested in the whole story) but you make a good point always to call police at the scene of the accident, could save a lot of work further down the line.
Thanks, Adam
