    Cycling around Maidenhead

I'm going to be working in Maidenhead for a few month so will be staying away from homer. I plan to take a bike and take advantage of riding in unfamiliar territory. I don't mind driving a ways for a ride. So can anyone recommend good area to ride or interesting routes (20-50 miles) for evening rides.

I'd also be interested in riding out with others. I do 50-100 mile sportives at average speeds of 15-17 mph but am a bit slow going up hills.
Aspiring cyclist.... erm no I mean perspiring...

    Re: Cycling around Maidenhead

You'll be on my doorstep. Actually todays ride took me through Maidenhead &**8230; http://app.strava.com/rides/11510405

Maidenhead "Gateway to the Gateway of the Chilterns" or so an advert might read as they are mostly just to the West. Have a look in the "Log Your Rides' thread and you should find quite a few of my rides linked to Strava for you to see where I ride. Here's one I did last weekend &**8230; http://app.strava.com/rides/11018308

Plus to the East and South is Windsor and the Great Park - you can try the 1948 Olympic road race route (I googled it to see that my mate took me around 95% of it one night recently). You could try some off-road (hire a MTB if you don't have one) at Swinley Forest in Bracknell.
