Was there at the Weegiedome last night, atmosphere was excellent, knowledgeable crowd and pretty noisy - especially when team GB took to the track! Podium girls were a bit disappointing......

Saw Blofeld and Sutton milling about, the latter didn't seem the worse for wear after his recent accident.

I was there last night and all day today.

It was an incredible experience for my first time in the Velodrome and different from what I expected. The track is steeper, the venue smaller. The crowd last night was immense, however the support today for the GB riders was incredible. I'm sure that's what helped Laura to the Omnium win during the 500m TT.

I'm addicted! Off to buy some Foerstemann legs from Wiggle.

The organisation and staff at the Glasgow velodrome were pretty good too, got back into the centre of Glasgow with minimal fuss using the free shuttle.

The atmosphere just doesn't come across on TV at all, much much better live! Glad you enjoyed it..... I'm on the track there at a club day in January, feckin brickin it already with the angle of the track at the ends!

steepest velodrome in the country? 45 degres compared to thirty somethin in Manchester.

Was also there last night, thoroughly enjoyable, but anybody know how Mieke Kroeger is? Nasty crash in the Devil.

Glasgow is a 250m track and 45 degrees. Some people claiming it's 47! Manchester is 250m/42 degrees - shorter tracks generally have steeper banks, Glasgow must be much scarier than Manchester for the first-timer! You would have to carry decent speed into the bends if you go up the banking!

Cheers for the update my Googling failed.

One of the points made by the Save the Velodrome campaign for Herne Hill made was it's long and shallow so a good introductionary track for people (and next year I will go to a taster session)
