    Re: My wheels reviewed

Carbon deep section wheels vary a lot, my spinergys were 50mm and caught crosswinds like a spinnaker, however the even deeper section zipp 404's are incredible - They just aren't bothered in any way at all by gusts. Brilliant wheels. And blimmin fast too!!! Serviced the freehub body before going out today as it was a bit draggy and causing chain suck, put light oil instead of grease on the pawls and that has it running just perfect!

Re skewers, I have Hope ones which are quite light, the zipp ones look brilliant and work better though. I wouldn't bother about saving a few grams on skewers, rather have the wheel secured and quiet personally!
    Heading into a personal headwind....

Talking of skewers, I have the Planet X ti ones as I said above and Hope on my MTN front wheel to match the hub. To be honest, they're really for the bling-ness. For function that looks reasonable I've always been very happy with the Shimano XT cam-lock skewers and they don't have an exposed 'dirt magnet' mechanism like most (not sure which other groupsets use the same, RS30 had them I think). Plus, they seem to work ok with my Taxc turbo if I'm being lazy.

I'm not sure if Shimano road and MTB skewers are different lengths though.
