Slightly over budget but you could claw a little money back by putting the old bike up for sale....

Mostyn,
I've been drooling over a few Canyon bikes in the last couple of days so am tempted by them, my only problem is not being able to test ride a bike that costs close on two grand.
I'll be hopefully be looking at both a CR1 and Foil tomorrow for an idea on sizing, but have also been looking at wheels and if I don't swap the frame then I will probably go down the hand built route for those.
Just out of curiosity does anyone have any experience of Storck or Merckx bikes as seen a couple of really good deals on their frames.
Ok so I got a chance to swing a leg over a CR1 on Friday but the shop didn't have a Foil for me to try. Not convinced that it's worth me changing the frame as position on the CR1 felt similar to my existing Ribble and after chatting about the Foil I think it's probably going to be a bit too stiff for what I'm riding so going to go down the wheels route.
So my next question is what would be the best all round wheel for a max £500 bearing in mind I've got Campag Khamsins, I'd like something slighty aero but know that 50mm aero wheels are probably pointless as an all rounder.
I don't think you will get a aero wheel at that price point(which is fairly light or good in cross winds)you would be better getting a decent lightweight one or if you want aero spend more imo
The only thing i can suggest at that price point is getting lucky with new wheels on Fleabay or Road.cc Classified forum Section.
52mm carbon clinchers..and they are good. £399

these are very well priced, i may have to purchase them myself!
