    Pro-Series wheels

    Hi,

I recently bought a second-hand Carrera Virtuoso with Pro-Series wheel and 8 speed Sora on it. I am hoping to upgrade to 105 or Ultegra 10 speed in the near future and am trying to work out whether I will need new wheels. Does anyone know if the Pro-Series wheels would take a 10 speed cassette?

    Thanks in advance.

The freehub should be compatible with 8,9 and 10 speed cassettes and even if it wasn't it would be a case of installing another freehub. So no need to upgrade the wheels on that score. Upgrading the groupset will give very limited benefit... 2 extra gears and a small reduction in weight. You may want to consider upgrading the wheels first.

Ok, but IMO most benefit will be from changing the wheels. if I only had say £400 or £500 to spend, my order of priority would be to get wheels first, then, if budget allowed, forks. Minimal benefit from changing the groupset, so that would be lowest priority.

Advice taken. Thank you very much. Am thinking of Shimano RS10 wheels? What do you think?
