    Torque Wrench

    Hi,

I'm about to buy these before I destroy another stem by over tightening it -

    http://www.wheelies.co.uk/p57550/Spe...ource=googleps

They seem reasonable in price as manually adjustable torques wrench from 3nm upwards are ridiculous money.

When or where would I use the 13.5nm wrench(?) as I understand most items on a bike are generally 5nm or 6nm and indicated on the item if it is particularly delicate - like my 'old' stem.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Alternatively, look at these:
    http://www.diy.com/nav/build/motorin...skuId=11888652

I bought a 4mm, a 5mm and a 6mm 1/4" socket for 50p each and cut down an allen key to fit, gules it in the socket and hey presto, less than £30, covers a huge range and replaceable bits when they wear

The 13.5Nm one is for tightening the bolt on a seatpillar which holds the saddle in place, NOT the seat bolt clamp on the frame.

    Re: Torque Wrench

I have a single torque key... setting is 5Nm. Just the job for the seat clamp and stem. For other components such as the BB, consult the manual.

Well found! I've been searching ebay and the likes. Who'd have thought B&Q would come up trumps?!?!?

    Thanks for the replies.

Wouldn't be without a torque wrench to be honest well worth the money..
    Glad you got it sorted.
