    Telemarketing from cycle company "The last straw"

    Has anyone else had numerous calls from 02476 numbers after buying items form a very well known cycle company in Ireland. I will not name them as it may break certain rules until I get a reply from them. I have spent thousands of pounds with them and keep getting the calls night and day. I just get clicking on the end of the line. he company has my landline and mobile and the calls start at landline then go to mobile. On searching the internet the same company advert flashes up on most of the websites on the search. Pretty good evidence i think. BE AWARE..

    Never ever give your number out!!!! I always fill the box with: 01234 567890

    email is good enough now days.
    We are not now that strength which in old days
    Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
    One equal temper of heroic hearts,
    Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
    To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

    Better still, get your own Internet domain (dead cheap) and most have email fowarding to your real email address: this means that <anyname>@<yourdomain> will get sent to you and you don't need to create accounts for <anyname>. Then whenever you need to give someone an email address you can make one up, and if you ever get spammed you know who it came from.

    That sounds good. I haven't got a clue what it means but (like French) it sounds good to me!

    'Evans' above, I hope this doesn't cause a 'chain reaction' - The 02476 code is around Coventry, so the original company must have sold your details on - or they were stolen. Worrying. I've just put a 'wiggle' on and changed my account details and generalised the phone numbers on the internet sites I buy from.

    He means, register a domain name on a site such as this http://www.123-reg.co.uk/?_$ja=kw:domain+names|cgn:123+Reg+Domains|cgid:201 551576|tsid:4474|cn:123-reg+Domains+Desktop|cid:4774586|lid:11750671|mt:Ex act|nw:search|crid:17967899186|bku:1&gclid=CJ-Pwfr07bUCFVDMtAodVW4AWw ... eg lets say you set up a domain name called stepdot.co.uk

    Then you can setup as many email addresses as you want such as fred.bloggs@stepdot.co.uk or arfur.minute@stepdot.co.uk etc. You can then use the stepdot.co.uk email addresses when you set up accounts on various sites and arrange to have all emails coming into stepdot.co.uk to be forwarded to your pucker email address.
    If someone starts sending loads of spam to one of your stepdot email addresses, you should then be able to identify which account was the source of the trouble and disable the stepdot.co.uk email account associated with the spam.

    Or out sourced the sales calls to a call centre company.
