    Re: Drugs in Cycling

"Whats your problem with that? Are you following the crowd and thinking it cool to have a go at 4x4 drivers or do you have a real reason yourself. I bet you dont live in a wooden shack, recycle your own water or grow your own organic veg do you? No, i suspected not"

Well no, I live in a real house made of bricks, I do occasionally grow veg but happily use chemicals esp "Sluggit" and at the moment, the water is being recycled, but then again, I have never driven or owned a car and, at the age of 50 probably never will. I have also failed to understand the need for urban 4x4s for years - but maybe thats just the tree-hugging-commie-b'stard in me

    Re: Drugs in Cycling

there is no excuse for drugs in any sport.they are known killers and those who promote their use should be banned forever. no 2 yr bans no leniency whatsoever. the world has been robbed of fine athletes through drugs the pressures on sportsmen to perform beyond their peak is stupid . im not saying that all sportsmen are so naive as to not know what they are doing , but they must be naive to think that they can get away with it. as a youngster , first setting out on my cycling path , my hero was Tommy Simpson, that man was a god to me and all that i should aspire to as a racer .it broke my heart when , first i heard he had died , and second under the circumstances. how many young peple will have to go throught this , only to find that their heros are cheats. I have never taken any drugs apart from prescritin drugs and i dont intend to change that at all. If you cant do it clean, then dont bother to turn up.

    Neither have pro cyclists!

For the record, there was only one positive test in this year's Tour, and that was the winner. Since the others couldn't keep up with him, can we assume they were riding clean? It's a logical assumption.
